Today we had an awesome day! In the morning we went to an environmental justice organization and learned what environmental justice is all about. When we arrived, we also played some super fun icebreakers that involved taking our shoes off, and running around in the grass. At OPAL (the organization) we watched a short film about a young girl who advocates against the installation of a toxic waste dump where she grows her little garden.
In the afternoon, we went and surveyed the ODOT parcels on Powell for the first time. They were a lot bigger than I expected. We then used our mapping skills to map them based on different criteria. Overall we had a very interesting day today.
